June Pledge: Mebrind

Seeing as I was talking about my July pledge earlier, I figured I should actually put up pictures of my June pledge. To recap, it was the following:

10 Sniper Scouts
Human Blood Bowl Team (12 Models)
Human Dreadball Team (10 models)

First the Scouts, being done for my Aurora Marines, I followed the scheme I've been using since the new How to paint Citadel Miniatures book came out last year.

As people know, I'm an Atlanta Falcons fan, so anytime there's a football based game, I want the team I intend to play with to be Falcons colours. With that in mind, and because they're the old human models, I used the Falcons Throwback uniform as my base for a scheme.

Finally for the Dreadball team, I saw this image on the Falcons webstore, it's the mascot for the NFL on Fox Sports done up in a futuristic Falcons scheme, and with the way the Dreadball models are laid out it actually transfers pretty well.

July's Pledge for Mebrind

So as I take a break from furiously finishing up the last minute painting I had a MONTH to do, I've been thinking about what to paint next month. I feel like June's pledge is do-able, but I didn't commit the time to it during the month, so with that in mind I've decided to take a slightly lighter load, with the idea being to get that done, and try to tack on more on the end based on how much time is left in the month. Also with the haste I'm finishing this months pledge, I feel like I could give the models more time.

 That being said, here's my pledge for July:

 Stretch goals include touching up June's pledge and more of my marines (half painted assault termie squad and tactical squads)

So with these type of challenges I tend to do nothing for the majority of the time limit, then panic a few days before the end and fly through the project with all the haste the Gods can grant me. The product of that panic: 

A bit of time left yet for basing and last minute touch ups, but pretty much there. The free hand was easier than I thought it was going to be, and I suspect I will grow to despise it by the time I am on the second squad of marines.

Pledge additions

So I was reading over the posts and my pledge is missing a couple things. To complete my 2500 list I am also painting 2 mangler squigs, another night goblin boss, a night goblin shaman, 3 fanatics and a savage Orc shaman. All nearly done!

KRON SMASH PLEDGE

well I'm all done! I think the hax thing to do is small obtainable goals I know I said Leman russ in the original pledge but somehow i got confused and finished my Bane wolf instead. If that is a problem I will submit pictures of the completed Leman russ within 48 hrs of this post just to prove to everyone that i'm not a slacker or oath breaker.

All the models are now built and undercoated, most have their base coats sorted as well.
